What we do
Close the Gap has two decades' experience of working with policymakers, employers, and unions on women and work. We are experts on the barriers which affect women’s participation in Scotland's labour market.
Policymakers
We work with policymakers working around the labour market, skills and education to advocate that policy recognises women's experiences. Our publications section contains policy reports, research and analysis that provide evidence and analysis of women's experiences of the labour market in Scotland. We also develop consultation responses and parliamentary briefings. You can also find more information in our policymakers section.
Companies
We work with companies, on a confidential basis, to support them to take action that will address the gender pay gap in their business. You can find more information in our employer section.
Public sector bodies
We work with individual public bodies and sector representative bodies to support work to address women's inequality, and to meet the requirements of the public sector equality duty. You can find more information and links to related resources in our employer section.
Trade union reps
We have worked with a number of individual trade unions to raise awareness of women's inequality at work, and to build capacity among reps to tackle unequal pay, and the gendered barriers that women face with their workplaces. You can find more information and links to related resources in our union rep section.
